The integral mission and the danger of extremisms: the importance of preserving the integrality of the mission

ABSTRACT

Integral mission theology is biblical and should be practiced by Christians. This practice must occur in a truly holistic way, reaching the entire life of the human being. The church cannot practice an incomplete mission: only to seek the salvation of souls or merely to meet the needs of the bodies of human beings. On the contrary, each Christian must be an agent of the Kingdom, bringing everyone the promise of life in abundance through faith in Jesus Christ. Thus, in the first point of this article, the concept of integral mission is approached, based on the premise “the whole gospel, for the whole person, for all men,” concluding that the Theology of Integral Mission is biblical and, therefore, it must be practiced. In the next section, some dangers of an incomplete mission are presented only on the needs of the body or soul. It follows that the Theology of Integral Mission must be seen as it is: integral. That is, balanced and without extremism. Finally, the need to return to the integrality of the mission is addressed, concluding that the Christian is called to be an agent of the transformation of the world in all aspects of human life, that is, acting in favor of the gospel and reaching all of humanity integrally.
