O presente artigo trata de um desafio histórico da fé cristã: não dissociar a teologia da piedade e nem a piedade da teologia. Fundamentando-se na Bíblia, que é o paradigma escriturístico para o pensar teológico e para a vivência piedosa, afirma-se a relação e a pertinência entre teologia e piedade. Esse atrelamento entre teologia e piedade é que dá, a uma e a outra, não só a possibilidade de dinamismo e atualização, mas também a capacidade de manter o seu princípio fundante que é a revelação. Com isso, é possível demarcar a inexistência da polaridade e da ambivalência entre teologia e piedade.

THEOLOGY AND PIETY: THE DOUBLE FACE OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH

ABSTRACT

This article is about the historical challenge of Christian faith: not dissociate the theology from pity and also the pity from theology. Basing on the Bible, which is the scriptural paradigm to the theological though and to the pious experiences, it is stated the relation and relevance between theology and piety. This linkage between theology and piety is what gives one another the possibility of dynamism and updating, but also the capacity of keeping it founding principle that is revelation. With this, it is possible to demarcate the nonexistence of the polarity and ambivalence between theology and piety.
