A ACUSAÇÃO DE ONOLATRIA JUDAICA NO PERÍODO HELENÍSTICO

Resumo

O presente artigo visa analisar a acusação de onolatria feita contra os judeus, buscando suas origens no período helenístico, relacionando os dois relatos principais, de Diodoro Sículo e Mnaseas de Patara, às culturas judaica e egípcia. Assim, busca- se apresentar as possibilidades de influência na formação de tal acusação, tanto na veneração de animais presente entre os egípcios, como ainda na relação judaica de seu Messias com o asno, sobre o qual deve aparecer montado.

The Accusation of Jewish Onolatry in the Hellenistic Period

ABSTRACT

This article aims to analyze the charge of onolatry made against the Jews, searching for its origins in the Hellenistic period, relating the two main accounts, from Diodorus Siculus and from Mnaseas of Patara, to the Jewish and Egyptian cultures. Therefore it is sought to present the possibilities of influence in the formation of such an accusation, both by the veneration of animals present among the Egyptians, and by the Jewish relation of their Messiah with the ass, on which he should appear mounted.
