UM CHAMADO AO DISCIPULADO CRISTÃO: DEFINIÇÃO, COMPETÊNCIAS E RECOMPENSAS NA PERSPECTIVA DO EVANGELHO JOANINO

Resumo

Este artigo é uma análise bíblica, a partir da narrativa do evangelho segundo o apóstolo João, quanto às palavras de Jesus Cristo no tocante ao seu discipulado. Para tanto, discorre-se sobre a definição e postura do discípulo de Jesus, forma de adentrar à vida discipular e quais as custas e recompensas que um indivíduo encontrará ao lançar-se ao discipulado. Considera-se que discípulo de Jesus é o indivíduo que o segue, rendendo-se a um relacionamento pessoal de sujeição a este, com o objetivo de aprender a viver aos moldes do Senhor. Este discípulo é alguém que mediante despertar divino, creu em Jesus e sua Obra, recebendo-o como Salvador e Senhor, de forma a provar de um novo nascimento que o manterá firmado no evangelho mesmo que diante de custas a tal condição. Esta perseverança deve ser movida por amor ao seu Senhor, sendo amparada pela esperança de divinas recompensas. Caso estas marcas não sejam refletidas na conduta de um indivíduo, este não se caracteriza como um discípulo de Jesus. A presente pesquisa aduz relevância para a igreja contemporânea, a saber, para aqueles que aspiram viver o discipulado de Jesus, em conformidade com as palavras do Mestre. Sendo que, se os cristãos da atualidade compreenderem biblicamente as condições e as marcas da vida discipular, então serão encorajados a refletir a vida de Jesus no cotidiano.

A call to christian discipleship: definition, skills and rewards from the perspective of the Johannine Gospel

Abstract: This article is a biblical analysis, from the gospel narrative according to the apostle John, regarding the words of Jesus Christ regarding his discipleship. Therefore, it discusses the definition and attitude of the disciple of Jesus, the way to enter the discipleship life and what are the costs and rewards that an individual will encounter when launching himself into discipleship. It is considered that a disciple of Jesus is the individual who follows him, surrendering to a personal relationship of subjection to him, with the objective of learning to live in the mold of the Lord. This disciple is someone who, through divine awakening, believed in Jesus and his work, receiving him as Savior and Lord, in order to prove a new birth that will keep him firm in the gospel even at the expense of such a condition. This perseverance must be motivated by love for his Lord, supported by the hope of divine rewards. If these marks are not reflected in the conduct of an individual, he is not characterized as a disciple of Jesus. The present research adduces relevance for the contemporary church, namely, for those who aspire to live the discipleship of Jesus, in accordance with the words of the Master. Since, if today's Christians understand biblically the conditions and marks of discipleship life, then they will be encouraged to reflect the life of Jesus in everyday life.
