ORIENTAÇÕES BÁSICAS PARA A INTERPRETAÇÃO BÍBLICA DE PARÁBOLAS

Resumo

Este artigo investiga a forma, a função e os desafios interpretativos das parábolas de Jesus, com atenção especial à sua sofisticação literária, impacto teológico e hermenêutico. A análise percorre o desenvolvimento histórico das interpretações parabólicas, destacando o risco da alegorização excessiva e as contribuições de autores como Jülicher, Hunter, Snodgrass e Kunz. Aponta-se para a importância do tertium comparationis na distinção entre parábolas e alegorias, bem como para a riqueza comunicativa das parábolas, cuja estrutura narrativa e uso de elementos cotidianos provocam reflexão e resposta ativa do ouvinte. Além disso, são discutidas classificações temáticas e cronológicas que auxiliam no estudo sistemático dessas narrativas. Por fim, o artigo apresenta as ações parabólicas como expressões práticas do ensino de Jesus, destacando sua força simbólica e performativa no contexto da proclamação profética.

Basic guidelines for the biblical interpretation of parables

Abstract: This article examines the form, function, and interpretative challenges of Jesus’ parables, focusing on their literary sophistication, theological significance, and hermeneutical implications. The study traces the historical evolution of parable interpretation, highlighting the dangers of excessive allegorization and the insights of scholars such as Jülicher, Hunter, Snodgrass, and Kunz. Emphasis is placed on the tertium comparationis as a key element in distinguishing parables from allegories, as well as on the communicative richness of parables, whose narrative structure and everyday imagery provoke reflection and demand active listener engagement. The article also explores thematic and chronological classifications that support a systematic study of these narratives. Lastly, it presents parabolic actions as practical expressions of Jesus’ teaching, underscoring their symbolic and performative power within the context of prophetic proclamation.
