UMA ANÁLISE SOBRE O SIGNIFICADO DA PALAVRA SILENCIADA EXPRESSA NO “COMO” DO SACERDOTE ZACARIAS

Resumo

A proposta do artigo tem por finalidade tecer uma análise discursiva sobre o texto bíblico de Lucas 1.5-25, que narra a predição do nascimento de João Batista. A partir da perícope eleita observa-se que a mensagem foi entregue pelo anjo Gabriel ao sacerdote Zacarias, como resposta às suas orações. A questão que norteia a análise do artigo está na pergunta de Zacarias dirigida ao anjo e que acarreta como consequência o seu silêncio. A problemática a ser investigada tem como inquietação a seguinte pergunta: por que o “como” expresso na resposta de Zacarias evidencia um prenúncio de dúvida, figurando na ação de ter a sua palavra silenciada? O aspecto de análise está centrado no campo da linguagem. Não se tem a pretensão de efetivar uma análise exegética do texto, mas compreender como o posicionamento do sacerdote conduziu à exortação expressa pelo anjo, tendo o silenciamento enquanto consequência da atitude manifesta pelo sacerdote. Observa-se que Zacarias, por sua posição ocupada e pelo seu conhecimento diante dos feitos do Senhor, deveria demonstrar confiança diante do anúncio efetivado e alegrar-se por ter a resposta que tanto almejava, anunciando ao povo o que havia sido revelado sobre o nascimento do seu filho.

An analysis of the meaning of the silenced word expressed in the “how” of the priest Zacharias

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to conduct a discursive analysis of the biblical text Lucas 1:5-25, which narrates the prediction of the birth of John the Baptist. From the chosen pericope, it is observed that the message was delivered by the angel Gabriel to the priest Zechariah as an answer to his prayers. The question guiding the article's analysis lies in Zechariah's inquiry to the angel, which results in his being silenced. The issue to be investigated revolves around the following question: Why does the "how" expressed in Zechariah’s response indicate a foreshadowing of doubt, leading to his speech being silenced? The analytical focus is centered on the field of language. The intention is not to carry out an exegetical analysis of the text but rather to understand how the priest’s stance led to the rebuke expressed by the angel, with silencing as a consequence of the attitude displayed by the priest. It is noted that Zechariah, given his position and his knowledge of the Lord’s deeds, should have demonstrated trust in the announcement and rejoiced at receiving the answer he had longed for, proclaiming to the people what had been revealed about the birth of his son.
