A DISCIPLINA MILITAR COMO ESCUSA DE CONSCIÊNCIA
Resumo
Independente da cultura local, crueldade sempre provocará sentimentos controversos. Não é novidade que alguns seres humanos são mórbidos quando se trata do sofrimento alheio, especialmente quando eles são os causadores. O exército romano era muito eficiente naquilo que fazia, especialmente na aplicação de sanções aos condenados. A rígida disciplina militar os obrigava a adotarem padrões cada vez mais elevados de conduta, inclusive agirem com extrema crueldade em suas ações. Faziam isso em nome de seus comandantes, em nome de sua legião e, acima de tudo, em nome de Roma. Jesus sofreu nas mãos deles e, mesmo tendo motivos de sobra para odiar, perdoou a seus algozes e clamou pelo perdão do Pai, sob a justificativa de que eles não sabiam o que faziam. Não sabiam a gravidade pecaminosa de suas ações, pois as cumpriam ipsis literis. Não é por acaso que os romanos formaram um dos maiores, senão o maior exército da Antiguidade. Tudo isso se deve à estrita disciplina de suas tropas. No drástico evento da crucificação de Jesus, contrariando as expectativas humanas, Ele lhes perdoa ao invés de os condenar, os ama ao invés de odiar. Ele era Deus, mas também era homem. O motivo que o levou a agir assim é alvo deste trabalho, bem como descobrir as razões que levaram homens a agirem com tamanha crueldade. A disciplina militar está por trás destas questões e, pelo menos no caso dos legionários romanos, serviu-lhes de escusa2 deconsciência, chamando a atenção do servo sofredor, entregue em suas mãos para ser morto.

The military discipline as exclusion of consciousness
ABSTRACT
Regardless of local culture, cruelty will always be something that causes mixed feelings in people. Unsurprisingly some humans are morbidly when it comes to other people's suffering, especially when they are the cause. The Roman army was very efficient in it's duty, especially in the application of sanctions to the convicted. The rigid military discipline requires us to adopt higer standards of conduct, including, act with extreme cruelty in their actions. They did this on behalf of their commanders, on behalf of his legion and above all in name of Rome. Jesus suffered in their hands, and, even though plenty of reasons to hate, He forgave his executioners and called for forgiveness of the Father, on the grounds that they did not know what they were doing. They did not know the sinful gravity of their actions. It is not for nothing that the Romans formed one of the largest, if not the greatest army of antiquity. All this is due to the strict discipline of his troops. In the dramatic event of Jesus' crucifixion, contrary to human expectations, He forgives Instead of condemning, loves instead of hating. He was God, but he was also a man. The reason that led Him to do so is the subject of this paper, and also find out the reasons that lead men to act with such cruelty. Military discipline is behind these questions, and, at least in the case of Roman legionaries, served them as a excuse for the consciousness, calling the attention of the suffering servant, delivered into his hands to be killed.
