UMA INTRODUÇÃO AO MOLINISMO

Resumo

O molinismo é um sistema que compatibiliza de maneira radical a soberania divina com a liberdade humana. Tendo origem a partir das ideias do jesuíta Luís de Molina, no século XVI, ganhou o campo dos debates filosóficos em meados do século XX, e a partir de então tem adentrado nas discussões da academia teológica. Trata-se mais de um sistema filosófico com aplicações teológicas, sendo oriundo de uma modificação da epistemologia divina, a partir da elaboração de uma categoria denominada conhecimento médio, por meio do qual Deus conhece os contrafactuais e através do mesmo decreta criar as coisas existentes no mundo. Este esquema modifica a soteriologia calvinista, mas o faz às custas de muita argumentação filosófico-teológica e pouca exegese bíblica. Algumas objeções demonstram inconsistências no sistema molinista quanto ao caráter divino e findam por incompatibilizá-lo com o calvinismo.

An introduction to Molinism

ABSTRACT

The molinism is a system that in a radical way tries to make compatible the divine sovereignty and the human freedom. Its origins are in the ideas of the jesuit priest Luis de Molina, in the 16th century, and more recently, at the second half of 20th century, it has been part of philosophical debates and discussions of the theological academy. It is more a philosophical system with theological applications, with roots in a modification of divine epistemology, trough the elaboration of a category named middle knowledge, where God knows the counterfactuals, and for this, decrees to create the existent things in the world. This outline changes the Calvinistic soteriology, but do this with many philosophical and theological argumentation but few biblical exegesis. Some objections show the inconsistency of the molinist system when it comes to the divine character and make it incompatible with the Calvinism.
