Neste artigo o autor analisa os textos do livro de Atos em que o Espírito Santo foi derramado sobre os judeus, samaritanos e gentios, e interpreta o objetivo de tal acontecimento a partir de seu contexto. Os sinais miraculosos, principalmente o falar em línguas, se repetirá em todas as pessoas no momento em que receber o Espírito Santo? O estudo foi realizado através de pesquisa bibliográfica de diversos especialistas tais como: Warren W. Wiersbe, Werner de Boor, Robert H. Gundry e John Stott, entre outros. A mesma evidenciou que os sinais aconteceram em momentos e com propósitos distintos. Os sinais, assim como as línguas faladas nestes eventos, foram o cumprimento de profecias, e não se repetirão obrigatoriamente toda vez que alguém receber o Espírito Santo.

The pour out of Holy Spirit in the book of Acts

ABSTRACT

This article aims to analyse passages from the book of Acts where the Holy Spirit was poured out on Jews, Samaritans and Gentiles, and to interpret the goals of these passages from their own context. Should the miraculous signs that were witnessed at these events (as speaking in tongues) to happen again every time someone receives the Holy Spirit? The study was carried as a bibliographical research through writings from several scholars as Warren W. Wiersbe, Werner de Boor, Robert H. Gundry, John Stott and others. The conclusion is that the signs happened at a specific time and with specific purposes. Thesigns, as well as the languages that were spoken at these events, were the fulfilment of prophecies, and not necessarily should be repeated every time a person receives the Holy Spirit.
