O entendimento que o apóstolo Paulo tinha a respeito de Jesus Cristo era o alicerce para o seu entendimento da vida cristã, bem como de importantes fatores da vida cristã, os elementos da salvação, como a justificação e a santificação. Ao investigar a pessoa e a obra de Cristo, em contraste com a pessoa e a obra de Adão e as consequências de cada um deles para toda a humanidade, Paulo abre o caminho para a busca da identidade cristã - a identidade do ser humano em Cristo, em contraste com a identidade do ser humano em Adão. Para Paulo, a identidade cristã se desenvolve no estar em Cristo, no viver em Cristo e para Cristo. Cristo, sendo Deus, é Senhor e Salvador; portanto, o ser humano somente pode ser justificado e santificado em Cristo. E unicamente aqueles que estão em Cristo têm condições de lutar contra o pecado, pois somente estes têm o Espírito, que é dado por Cristo. Por ser o verdadeiro e perfeito exemplo para o ser humano, é em Cristo que o indivíduo pode encontrar a razão de ser de sua vida e a sua verdadeira identidade e propósito.Palavras-chave: Em Cristo. The individual in Christ according to Paul: building an identity

ABSTRACT

The apostle Paul's understanding of Jesus Christ was the foundation for his understanding of the Christian life, as well as important factors in the Christian life, the elements of salvation, such as justification and sanctification. In investigating the person and work of Christ, in contrast to the person and work of Adam and the consequences of each of them for all mankind, Paul opens the way to the search for Christian identity - the identity of the human being in Christ, in contrast to the identity of the human being in Adam. For Paul, Christian identity develops in being in Christ, in living in Christ and for Christ. Christ, being God is Lord and Saviour; therefore, the human being can only be justified and sanctified in Christ. And only those who are in Christ are able to fight against sin, for only these have the Spirit, which is given by Christ. By being the true and perfect example, it is in Christ that it is truly possible for the individual to finally find the reason for his life and his true identity and purpose.
