O presente artigo visa a apresentar uma análise dos termos lei e amor, com base no texto de Romanos 13.8-10. Tem como objetivo demonstrar de que maneira o amor e a lei estão relacionados e qual diálogo os dois estabelecem. A grande questão a ser respondida é: existe a possibilidade de relacionar o conceito de amor com a lei? Para responder isso, após estudar os conceitos de lei e amor, o artigo apresenta uma análise do texto em questão, à luz de seus contextos histórico-cultural e literário. Com base em trabalhos de autores como George Ladd, Herman Ridderbos e John Stott, o artigo demonstra, então, que existe uma relação entre lei e amor e que a mesma não é conflitante, mas complementar.

Paul, the Law and Love: an analysis of Romans 13.8-10

Abstract

The present article intents to demonstrate an analysis of the terms law and love, based on the text of Romans 13.8-10. This research aims to show how the love and the law are related and what kind of dialogue the two establish. The great question that this work seeks to answer is: is there a possibility of relate the concept of love with the law? To answer this, after studying the concepts of law and love, this article intents an analysis of the referenced text, in the light of the historical-cultural and literary contexts. Based on works of authors like George Ladd, Herman Ridderbos and John Stott, the article demonstrates that there is a relation between the law and the love and this relation isn”t conflicting, but complementary.
