Principais crenças e a concepção do Pentecostalismo sobre o batismo no Espírito Santo

Resumo

A doutrina do batismo no Espírito Santo ao longo dos séculos tem ocasionado discussões teológicas e até mesmo gerado desconforto em alguns ao apresentá-la. Diante disso, surgiram algumas linhas teológicas para explicar o significado do batismo no Espírito Santo. Alguns entendem que o batismo no Espírito Santo está diretamente ligado a regeneração e conversão. Porém, outros entendem que esse batismo significa uma total santificação ou perfeição cristã. Já na perspectiva pentecostal clássica o batismo no Espírito Santo significa um revestimento de poder, o qual capacita o cristão para o serviço e para testemunhar de Jesus Cristo. Assim sendo, o artigo apresenta uma exposição da doutrina do batismo no Espírito Santo como revestimento de poder sob a ótica do pentecostalismo clássico.

Main beliefs about baptism in the Holy Spirit and the conception of Pentecostalism

ABSTRACT

The doctrine of baptism in the Holy Spirit over the centuries has caused theological discussions and even caused some discomfort in presenting it. Given this, some theological lines emerged to explain the meaning of baptism in the Holy Spirit. Some understand that baptism in the Holy Spirit is directly linked to regeneration and conversion. However, others understand that this baptism means total Christian sanctification or perfection. In the classic Pentecostal perspective, the baptism in the Holy Spirit means a covering of power which enables the Christian to serve and to witness for Jesus Christ. Therefore, this article presents an exposition of the doctrine of baptism in the Holy Spirit as a cladding of power from the standpoint of classical Pentecostalism.
