Fale agora ou cale-se: uma análise sobre a importância do silêncio do Monaquismo primitivo na contemporaneidade

Resumo

A sociedade moderna perdeu quase que por completo a noção da importância e o valor do silêncio e de como sua prática é muito útil hodiernamente. A busca de experimentar a Deus é uma experiência que leva a uma visão de unidade que é transmitida pela tradição cristã. Infelizmente, vive-se um aumento crescente do sentimento de ausência de Deus na sociedade, na qual “surge uma preocupação de como o ser humano poderá sobreviver não no que se refere à raça, mas sim da humanidade da raça”. Este artigo tem uma metodologia de caráter bibliográfico, cujo resultado demonstra como os ensinos ascéticos dos pais da igreja primitiva podem ser úteis nos dias de hoje, concernente ao ato de ficar em silêncio em Deus, uma vez que a cultura cristã tem deixado os indivíduos falantes demais e cada vez menos ouvintes e reflexivos.

Speak now or shut up: an analysis on the importance of the silence of primitive Monaquism in contemporaneity

ABSTRACT

Modern society has almost completely lost the notion of the importance and value of silence and how its practice is beneficial today. The quest to experience God is an experience that leads to a vision of unity that is transmitted by the Christian tradition. Unfortunately, there is an increase in the feeling of the absence of God in a society where "a concern arises as to how the human being can survive not concerning race, but with the humanity of the race." The methodology of this article is a bibliographic approach. The result demonstrates how the ascetic teachings of the fathers of the early church can be useful today concerning the act of being silent in God's presence given the fact that the Christian culture has made individuals who speak more and listen and reflect less.
