DAVID LIVINGSTONE: UM MISSIONÁRIO DESBRAVADOR EM UM CONTINENTE ESCRAVIZADO

Resumo

A pesquisa contou a história de vida do missionário David Livingstone, destacando a importância de seu trabalho em levar o livre comércio e o cristianismo para o interior do continente africano. Mostrou seu chamado à obra missionária, bem como os lugares pelos quais passou, perigos enfrentados e suas descobertas. Também apresentou os resultados de seu empenho num lugar hostil, onde provavelmente suas chances de sobreviver e obter êxito seriam impossíveis. Livingstone se esforçou muito e investiu tempo; obteve resultados, mostrando, através das pessoas alcançadas e do legado deixado, que valeu a pena investir a vida em algo em que acreditava, mesmo que para isso tivesse que enfrentar a própria morte.

David Livingstone: an exploring missionary in a slave continent

ABSTRACT

This research tells the life story of the missionary David Livingstone, highlighting the importance of his work in bringing free trade and Christianity to the African continent's interior. It shows his call to missionary work, the places he went through, the dangers he faced, and his discoveries. It also presents the results of his efforts in a hostile place, where his chances of surviving and succeeding would probably be impossible. Livingstone worked hard and invested time; he obtained results, showing through the people he reached and the legacy he left, that it was worth investing his life in something he believed in, even if it would cost him his death.
