O PAPEL ATRIBUÍDO PELA COMUNIDADE ECLESIÁSTICA À ESPOSA DE PASTOR: IDENTIDADE E PRÁTICAS ALTERNATIVAS DIANTE DE UMA MISSÃO

Resumo

O artigo versa sobre problemáticas vivenciadas por uma mulher que assume muitos papéis dentro do seu lar, dentro da igreja e da sociedade: a esposa de pastor. Ela convive com seus próprios conflitos, com problemas familiares e com a comunidade eclesiástica. Grande parte da ação pastoral acontece nas comunidades protestantes com a participação da “esposa do pastor”, o que estabelece uma situação peculiar de construção de identidade e de ação ministerial na perspectiva de gênero, ou seja, é construído um estereótipo do tipo ideal de mulher cristã, marcado pelas atitudes de abnegação e infalibilidade. O objetivo deste artigo é evidenciar como se dá essa percepção na perspectiva da “esposa do pastor”, elencando alternativas de enfrentamento de sua missão e dos dilemas por ela vividos, no âmbito do ministério. Para que se possa desenvolver a investigação, elege-se a metodologia de caráter qualitativo e a pesquisa bibliográfica. Faz-se uso da aplicação de um questionário semiestruturado para dez esposas de pastores. A aplicação do questionário possibilitou deduzir que as esposas de pastores não se sentem bem, assumindo em grande parte a identidade de “mulher ideal” que lhes é atribuída pela igreja. Sentem-se bem no exercício das funções religiosas e sociais que lhes são confiadas, independentemente da emancipação financeira, das questões de gênero que estão diretamente ligadas à sua religiosidade, do seu papel secundário na liderança em relação aos homens dentro das comunidades e dos conflitos de caráter pessoal, para com a entidade cristã e para com seu cônjuge, o pastor.

The role assigned by the Ecclesiastic Community to the shepherd's wife: identity and alternative practices before a mission

ABSTRACT

The article discusses the problems experienced by a woman that takes on many roles inside her home, inside the church and in society: the pastor's wife. She lives with her conflicts, with family problems, and with the ecclesiastic community. A significant part of the pastoral activities takes place in the protestant communities with the participation of the "pastor's wife," which establishes a peculiar situation in the building of her identity and ministry involvement as it relates to gender, which means, the pastor's wife represents a stereotype of the ideal Christian woman, marked by attitudes of self-denial and infallibility. This article's objective is to highlight how this perception is given from the perspective of the pastor's wife, to make evident options available for facing her mission and for the dilemmas she experiences within the ministry. The methodology used in the research is qualitative value with bibliographical research and a semi-structured questionnaire. It is used the application of a semi-structured questionnaire to gather information on ten pastor's wives. The questionnaire's application guided the conclusion that the pastor's wives do not find well-being taking on the "ideal woman" identity that is placed on them by the church. They find well-being in the exercise of religious and social functions that are attributed to them apart from financial emancipation, questions of gender that are directly connected to her religiosity, the secondary role in leadership concerning men in the communities and the conflicts of personal character, as it relates to the Christian community and her spouse, the pastor.
