IRMÃO ANDRÉ: O MISSIONÁRIO PIONEIRO ÀS IGREJAS PERSEGUIDAS DO SÉCULO XX

Resumo

O presente artigo apresentou a vida e o ministério do Irmão André, missionário reconhecido mundialmente por transportar Bíblias para os países comunistas na segunda metade do século XX, com o intuito de auxiliar e capacitar a Igreja perseguida. Inicia-se o texto com um breve histórico de sua vida, conversão e chamado ao ministério. Expõe-se relatos de sua infância até o enfrentamento de guerras, bem como o trabalho desenvolvido por ele nos lugares onde passou. Também é apresentado relatos de suas experiências em muitas viagens. Evidencia-se no artigo que, o trabalho deste homem resultou na fundação da organização Portas Abertas, agência missionária que auxilia as igrejas perseguidas em todo o mundo.

Brother Andrews: the pioneer missionary to the churches persecuted in the 20th century

ABSTRACT

This article presents the life and ministry of Brother Andrew, a missionary recognized worldwide for transporting Bibles to communist countries in the second half of the twentieth century, to assist and empower the persecuted Church. The text begins with a brief history of his life, conversion, and call to ministry. It exposes reports from his childhood to the end of wars and the work developed by him in the places where he passed through. There is also an account of his experiences on many trips. It is evident in the article that this man's work resulted in the foundation of the organization Open Doors. This missionary agency assists persecuted churches around the world.
