A CONTRARREFORMA: RESPOSTA CONTRA O PROTESTANTISMO E RENOVAÇÃO ECLESIÁSTICA DENTRO DO CATOLICISMO

Resumo

Este artigo analisou o evento histórico conhecido como Contrarreforma, ou Reforma Católica. Foram abordados os motivos que levaram a Igreja Católica a realizar tal ação após anos de hegemonia de poder e influência na Europa, como também se fez um estudo sobre o Concílio de Trento e as tentativas de reconciliação entre protestantes e católicos. Por fim, se destacou a fundação da ordem dos Jesuítas e o seu papel na Contrarreforma.

The Counter-Reformation: response against Protestantism and ecclesiastic renewal within Catholicism

Abstract: This study analyzed the historical event known as Counter-Reformation, or Catholic Reformation. The reasons that led the Catholic Church to take such action after years of hegemony of power and influence in Europe was approached, as was made a study on the Council of Trent and the attempts for reconciliation between Protestants and Catholics. Finally, the foundation of the Order of the Jesuits and their role in the Counter-Reformation.
