A KENÅŒSIS DE JESUS EM FILIPENSES 2.5-8 COMO EXORTAÇÃO À HUMILDADE

Resumo

Este artigo apresentou a questão kenótica presente em Filipenses 2.5-8 como fundamento da prática da humildade cristã. Ele traçou o pano de fundo da epístola endereçada à igreja de Filipos, com atenção às questões introdutórias básicas. Também lidou com questões de forma, contexto literário e tradução do texto. Por fim, o trabalho analisou o trecho em questão, valendo-se de ferramentas exegéticas típicas do método histórico-gramatical e demonstrou a relação existente entre a prática da humildade cristã e o modelo dado por Jesus em sua encarnação.

The kenosis of Jesus in Philippians 2.5-8 as an exhortation to humility

Abstract: This article addressed the kenotic question presented in Philippians 2.5-8 as the core for the understanding and practice of Christian humbleness. It traced the background of the epistle to the church of Philippi, focusing on the fundamental introductory issues. It also dealt with form, literary context and text translation. Finally, it analyzed the passage in question using exegetical tools which are typical to the historical-grammatical method to establish the relationship between the practice of Christian humbleness and the model Jesus provided with his incarnation.
