AO RESGATE DA ARTE: EM BUSCA DE UMA NOVA SIGNIFICÃNCIA DA ARTE PARA O CRISTIANISMO BRASILEIRO

Resumo

A pesquisa tratou da relação entre o cristão e a arte em geral, em especial da necessidade de se resgatar o entendimento do propósito, bem como do uso da arte pela igreja hoje. No primeiro ponto foram delineados fundamentos da arte, com definições e abrangências do termo, tipos de arte e algumas das suas funções. Nele foi vista a complexidade da arte, como existem muitas categorias artísticas e sua importância e presença na vida. No segundo ponto foi feito um panorama histórico da arte cristã da Igreja Primitiva à Reforma Protestante e, em seguida, foi dado um parecer sobre a arte no século 21. Por meio dele, notou-se o bom desenvolvimento da arte até a Reforma, na qual a relação entre a arte e a fé se tornou conflituosa, sendo incentivada por um lado e vetada por outro. As consequências que se seguiram respingam até os dias de hoje na arte, mostrando falta de entendimento bíblico e negligência.

To the rescue of art: looking for a new meaning for art into the Brazilian Christianism

Abstract: The research discussed the relations between the Christian and the general arts, especially the need of rescuing the understanding of the purpose, as well as the use of the art by today”s church. On the first point the foundations of art were outlined, with definitions and the scope of the term, kinds of art and some of its functions. In it the complexity of art is observed, as well as there are many artistic categories, and its importance and presence in life. On the second point an historical overview of the Christian art from the Primitive Church to the Protestant Reformation was made, and an opinion about the art on the twentieth-first century was given. Through this chapter, the good development of the art till the Reformation was noted, when the relation between art and faith became conflictive, encouraged by one side while vetoed by the other. The consequences that followed sprinkle on the arts until today, showing lack of biblical understanding and negligence.
