BREVE HISTÓRIA DA ESCOLA DE ANTIOQUIA E SUA INFLUÊNCIA NA HERMENÊUTICA DA REFORMA PROTESTANTE

Resumo

Este artigo tem como finalidade apresentar uma breve história da escola de interpretação que surgiu em Antioquia da Síria por volta do terceiro século e a sua grande influência na hermenêutica da reforma protestante. O artigo traz algumas informações sobre a cidade de Antioquia e a origem da escola de interpretação. Aborda de forma resumida algumas divergências de interpretação entre a escola de Antioquia e a escola de Alexandria. Apresenta os principais proponentes da escola e o que pensavam sobre a intepretação da Bíblia. No final do artigo são apresentados alguns princípios de interpretação que distinguem a escola de Antioquia e sua influência na hermenêutica da Reforma Protestante.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present a brief history of the school of interpretation that arose Antioch of Syria around the third century and its great influence on the hermeneutics of the Protestant Reformation. The article gives information about the city of Antioch and the origin of the school of interpretation. It goes on to describe briefly some of the differences in interpretation between the school of Antioch and that of Alexandria. The article also presents the main proponents of the school of Antioch and their thoughts on the interpretation of the Bible. The conclusion of the article presents some principles of interpretation that distinguish the school of Antioch and its influence on the hermeneutics of the Protestant Reformation.
